Hey guys. Yesterday morning I babysat for a little boy (three going on four, not that that matters) for about two hours. This day his father called me to tell me he has some sort of cold-like thing. My question is, would he have been contagious yesterday morning? And when do you think I'll be in the clear? I’m severely emetephobic, so I wash my hands habitually, but I know there are other ways to contract it. Thanks!

Answer:
If the child was at an infectious stage i.e. sneezing, temperature etc it is possible to have picked up his cold but it usually does not show up until about 3 days after the contact

If you washed your hands frequently then this should also minimise the chances of picking up his cold as the medical profession now tell us to wash our hands frequently if we’ve a cold or if we’re in contact with people with colds so you are prone to have minimised your chances

Answer:
He was ok yesterday right? If the child got sick this day then there's no way he could get you sick. You are actually in the clear by tomorrow or so, if you show no symptoms by tomorrow night you shuld be in the clear!

Answer:
Colds can be passed through the air in the little particles that come out our mouths when we speak. If the child was running a fever, you might just catch it.

Answer:
okay… question what does “emetephobic” mean?

I don't think you could have caught a cold.
