i am a high school cross country runner and when im on my last few miles of running , my foot falls asleep and it feels heavy and i get pins and needles . does anyone know why it does this and how i can stop it from happening ?

Answer:
It sounds like you may have restricted blood flow in that area. Try another pair of running shoes. Loosen the laces on your shoes and make sure they are not to small for you foot. Best thing to do is go to a sports store that specializes in distance running. These are usually in business because of their reputation on service to the running community in regards to shoes. These guys are runners themselves and they can help you and most will guarantee their results. The service and shoes are usually no more costly then a huge box sports store.

Answer:
You could maybe be pinching a nerve for some reason. Check with your school trainer, they might be able to provide some insight on why your foot is falling asleep.

Answer:
personally i like the feeling….but you should still get that checked out by the doctor.
