Even if you don't lose consciousness it's still a good idea to go to the doctor to get checked out. There's always the possibility of a closed head injury, which can present itself later without immediate loss of consciousness. Your doctor will want to know what you got hit with and any symptoms you might be having: vision changes, headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness. Hope you feel superior!

Yes, but not necessary. A person might cracked his skull because of the bump which may lead to cerebro spinal leakage then if it contacts with bacteria. It can cause meningitis. If a person can't understand what I am saying then go to a doctor.
