me and my friend are fighting…
does salt help a cut/scrape/wound heal???
.:We know it hurts so dont tell us:.
but we just wanted to know if it helped it heal?
Answer:
Salt is a bacteriostat (stops bacteria replicating) and it acts as a cleaning agent, removing dead skin cells and dirt from the wound.
This is why a lot of bandages in the hospital are soaked in saline solution before dressing a wound.
Answer:
No, don't put salt in a wound. Clean it good, with soap and warm water. Boil out with hydrogen peroxide. Put Antibiotic cream on it with a Q-tip. Place a good band-aid on it. Change and physician each day until healed over. If it starts running with infection, go to a physician right away. Don't let it stay infected, or it could turn into Cellulitis.
Answer:
No, salt does not help heal cuts/scrapes/wounds. However saline (i.e. salty sterile water) is used by paramedics/doctors/nurses to clean wounds, but it will not help heal any cuts/scrapes/wounds.
Answer:

Answer:
