I had knee surgery about 10 years ago on my right knee and now for some reason it has gotton sorta painful and stiff to walk sometimes. Somedays worse than others. This day I noticed what looks like fluid in my knee.Anyone know a way to help get rid off it without going to the Dr.? No insurance
Answer:
The only thing you can do it to keep it elevated when at rest and to apply warm compresses. Your body will eventually re-absorb the fluid if you rest your leg. Try taking some Motrin or Advil or a generic equivalent per package directions if these medications are not contraindicated by medical condition or other medications you may be taking. These medications are anti-inflamatory meds and will help reduce the swelling with rest of the limb. If you do not see any improvement in the next 3-4 days then you most likely will need to seek medical attention. Many communities have free clinics these days or discounted clinics that will set up a low payment plan. Check your community resources for assistance if you’re not feeling superior.
