I’ve weened my self way down yet still continue to take 15 10mg Norco. i don’t take them to get high i take them due to heavy withdrawals when i don’t. My pain is gone but i have been on these meds for over a yaer. I NEED HELP any suggestions ideas or previous life experience would be greatly appreciated. Any ideas on how to kick the habit?

I was wondering if your doctor is still giving them to you or if you had a lot of them.
I would speak to your dr or a pain mgmt. dr about helping you. It must have been very difficult to get off those other meds.
If you’ve just been getting off the other stuff, maybe its still a bit soon to expect your body to come off all of these things close together. If you take them around the same times, if you take any at nite, maybe you could start trying to skip that one first. You’ve already got yourself off of so much meds, maybe you just need time and drs. help.
did they help you get off the other stuff?just wondered.
Sorry for all the tough times you’ve been through. It sounds like you’ve a lot of strength. I believe you will be able to slowly reduce this med.
I take it also for chronic pain. do not know if i am addicted to it. probably huh?
Take care and get the help you need and try not to stress over it too much. sounds like you have done a lot already.

I did the whole bone cancer gig years ago. And thankfully after each following revision I didn't go home with anything stronger than codeine or Tylenol 3s and only for a short time later. I can't imagine being on that kind of pain medication for a year.
I would have a serious speak with your doctor, if the pain is long gone you should be off the drugs so you can get back to life as usual. I really advocate speaking to your physician and getting a solid plan in place to deal with the withdrawals. I know there are programs in place to help those addicted to the medication get off the drug maybe your physician can advocate a plan to help you get over it.

You need to see a pain management specialist ( a doctor, usually a neurologist) who will help you manage the pain and wean you from opioid pain killers. Your situation is not uncommon.
