I don't want to use the patch or gum I want to quit smoking cold turkey. I tried before but I failed many times. I've been smoking for a little over a year about 6 or 7 cigarettes a day, and I don't want to any more… its so hard to quit with all the stress going on and stuff I need some helpful tips please. Also if anyone quit smoking cold turkey I would like to know how long you had withdrawal symptoms for?

First off get you a plan together on how you want your quit to go. Get plenty of cigarette replacements. Join a support group. Make a list of all the good and bad things about smoking and quitting smoking. Set a quit date when your quit will begin down load a quit smoking meter I use the silk quit meter. The main thing is the want to quit and you can if you really want to. Yes the old nicodemon will come and tell ya you can just smoke one well he is not telling you the truth at all. Stay positive in your quit and keep telling your self I’m a Non-Smoker

I Frank Haven't Had A Cigarette In How Long ???

when I quit smoking cold turkey, I had to state to myself when I woke up “I will not have a cigarette this morning today”, then after lunch I had to say “I won’t have a cigarette after lunch today”, and before I went to bed I had to state “I will not have a cigarette before bed today”

whenever I got stressed out I would say “I don't need a cigarette each time I'm stressed, so I won't have one”

I started eating a slim-jim in place of having a cigarette. The main thing isn’t to buy smokes, and not to be around people that are smoking.

The only thing you need to do to quit smoking is decide that quitting is more important than whatever fleeting bad sensations withdrawal produces.

Every time you smoke a cigarette, you’ve made a choice to smoke it. If you want to smoke it more than you want not to, you will smoke it. If you want to cease smoking more than you want to smoke, you will not smoke. Simple as that.

I quit cold turkey about 22 hours ago. I always told myself “buy nicotine patches next week” and I never would.

I found an awesome website called whyquit.com. They're not selling anything at all. It's just a bunch of advice on quitting cold turkey. It really opened my eyes that nicotine is a real addiction. I got me so motivated that I smoked my last cig ever last night.

It was tough (and still is!) but I want to quit so bad. I read that nicotine is out of your system in 3days. Anything after that is just in your head. I chewed a lot of gum today and drank cranberry juice to try to flush out my system quicker.

i smoked for many years, tried to quit a lot of times. last year i got the flu. I was so sick I didn't even want to smoke. After 4 or 5 days i figured I had gone that long, just stick with it. I dont advocate getting sick, but if you happen to get sick, take advantage of it. I’ve been smoke free for 1 year 2 months now
