My Mom is so frustrated about losing weight. She eats really healthy and tries to fit in a tiny exercise every day although she works long hours yet she can’t seem to lose any weight. She's like 30 lbs.overweight but I know she used to be really thin (like only 115 lbs.). What works for women who are older?

Answer:
low carb diets work for people of any age… I went to the atkins website and saw photos of dozens of older woman in their 30's 40's and 60's that managed to lose a lot of weight on this diet…

As well she needs to build muscle to keep the weight off once she loses it… For every pound of muscle you build, you burn an extra one calories at rest so you can either exercise for 5 hours a day to burn 500 calories… or build 5 pounds of muscle, maintain it… and do just about 5 minutes of weight training each day…

Answer:
If she wants to lose weight she should eat a small high protein, low carb meal every 2-3 hours. Eat natural, unprocessed foods, no sugar, no flour, no starches.
