I eat healthy most of the time, but sometimes when I eat I feel like something clicks inside me and I loose all control with food and binge for HOURS after that. When I feel a food binge about to come, I feel like I have about 5 minutes to stop it before I loose control and I need to do something fast before it comes. It's weird but I know that I can prevent binging if I have the ability to do something fast but I don't know what to do or what to tell myself to halt the binging thoughts. Anyone else know what I'm talking about? How can I prevent a binge from coming?

Maybe when you feel that, you can swiftly brush your teeth and go outside and take a deep breath of fresh air (unless you live in a smoggy city) or take a quick walk around your block (assuming you live in a safe neighborhood). You can also try telling yourself that you’re in control and that you don't have to give in to the binge. Picture yourself going into your brain and turning off the click by pulling down a switch, visualization works.

I totally know what you are speaking about!! I experience the same binges especially in the evening hours afer eating really good all day!! It definately works to get your mind onto something else… call a friend, go for a walk, get out of the kitchen, or post a picture of a model on the fridge :) Report Abuse
