Right now, I'm 5'6 180 lbs., I know that seems like a lot for my height, but I've been lifting weights for a few years and the majority of it is muscle…..but I do have a little fat…and I feel like I need to lose about 15-20 lbs. of fat. can anybody help me figure out how I have the ability to possibly lose fat and still build muscle??? Right now this is what I'm trying… I'm using a 5 day workout split, Mon-Fri., where I work about 2 muscles a day…and I'm also doing 45 minutes of cardio 6 days a week and I take sundays totally off…my diet looks like this: meal 1: 5 egg whites, 1 cup of oats. Meal 2(post workout): 2 scoops whey protein w/ 1 cup of skim milk, Meal 3(lunch): 1 chicken breast w/ 1 cup of broccoli, Meal 4: 1 turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread w/ bananna. Meal 5: 1 chicken breast(or salmon). 1/2 cup of brown rice, 1/2 cup veggies, Meal 6: 2 scoops whey protein, 1/2 cup of skim milk….thats it. 6 meals a day at between 2000-2200 calories a day… is that a good diet/exercise plan for losing weight and building muscle at the same time?? is there a superior solution to what I'm trying to accomplish?

Answer:
well, i have worked out with body builders and there is really a catch 22 here … to build muscle, you need excess protein and calories so that your body won't use the protein for energy instead of rebuilding muscles with it … and to lose fat, you need to burn more calories than you take in …

I would advocate you do pick one … you can maintain your muscle while you lose fat and see only minimal gains, or you can keep building muscle and then try to lose the fat after you get bigger … to lose more fat, you need to pick up some super high intensity cardio on top of you your current weight-lifting routine … running, swimming, aerobics … or you can join a boxing gym - true boxing conditioning can burn up to 1200 calories per hour … you will lose weight crazy fast if you do it right … and since it requires some strength, you’re less prone to lose much muscle verses just running a lot …

hope this helps!

Answer:
The only way to lose fat and gain muscle is to do a cardio/weight train workout. Id state start out with just 3x a week and make it structured for you. It takes time, it could take about 2-3 months to lost 15-20 lbs. Just keep it up.

Answer:
Heavy circuit training.

Answer:
Ephedra pills are the best for burning fat and sparing muscle.

What overweight women and men have learned is that for years virtually every professional bodybuilder, informed fitness expert and successful personal trainer would tell you the same thing. Whether you want to accelerate the burning of excess body fat, boost your metabolic rate, heighten your thermogenic output or increase your energy level, there’s nothing stronger or more effective than the “thermogenic cocktail” of Ephedra, Caffeine, and Aspirin (The E/C/A- Stack”).
