I’m 5'7 and 170 lbs. I’m trying to lose at least 30 pounds.

I work out 3-4 times a week for 1 1/2 hrs a day.

I read somewhere that you need to burn off 500-1000 calories more then you take in.

How many calories do I need to digest in order to lose weight?

Answer:
The following is a rule of thumb. It doesn't take into account your body type, age, fitness level, lean muscle mass, etc.

If you're sedentary, multiply your weight by 14

If you're moderately active, multiply your weight by 17

If you're very active, multiply your weight by 20

The ideal way to lose weight is to cut back 500 calories from your diet and burn an additional 500 calories from activity, and then you would lose one pound a week.

The website below has lots of weight loss tips, motivational ideas, exercise tips, printable food and exercise logs, healthy recipes, etc. Good luck!
