HOW??? I'm a Diet Coke ADDICT but also am dieting (I need to get down to about 135, I'm 5'7″)… I've read/heard that diet sodas contribute to weight gain and I'm worried… how is that possible???
Answer:
Diet soda can contribute to weight gain because your body tastes the sweetness but doesn't get the calories from it. This leaves an “empty” feeling which your body then tries to fill by upping your sugar cravings. You in turn eat sugary stuff, which contains calories.
If you have the willpower to resist the sugary treats, or stay away from them altogether, then diet soda by itself won’t cause you to gain weight.
Hope that helps.
Answer:
Yes, drinking diet pop can make you gain weight. If you want a diet pop to drink, drink Diet Rite. It has nothing in it. If you want to lose weight, start drinking water. Also, watch what you eat.
Between meals, if you get hungry, eat some dry cereal like Cheerios, Special K, or Oatmeal Crisp.

Oh gosh, I know I've read about it before, but I can't remember the arguments. I think it had something to do with people drinking diet sodas and an all-around less healthy eating habit, but I'm not sure. I do know, however, that drinking such sweet drinks can alter your cravings towards less healthy choices.
Answer:
diet soda does not relly lead to weight gain…but…if you think you are making a healthier decision by going with diet…that’s wrong.
my motto is to jsut QUIT DRINKING SODA. it can be hard esp if you are addicted to the caffine…and if youa re going to drink soda…go witht eh good stuff…as often as I drink soda, it is a treat so im good witht eh calories that I drink that one or 2 days a month.
I know it can be frustrating…but a good alternate is seltzer water and juice and then eventually juice and then just water…
I know its hard, becuase trust me…i used to drink a LOT of soda…but if youmake it a treat and not a necessary part of your daily caloric intake…you’ll seee huge results in no time at all.
if you eat the same and drink water in place of your soda it iwll make a massive difference…liek i stated…diet has no calories…but its just as bad if not worse for you health wise…

Answer:
When you drink diet soda, your body thinks the aspartame is sugar and prepares for its digestion. However, when it realizes it is not sugar, it craves sugar.
It doesn't cause weight gain unless you cannot resist temptation!
