I have a cold, and have blown my nose till it blows no more.
I've even been using the Puffs with Vicks (the only tissure I have at the moment) and it's making my nose even more runny.
I've put aloe vera cream and shea butter on my nose, but they both sting and do nothing to moisturize it.
I’ve no cold medication available.

Answer:
you have over done it.

when you feel your nose hurting you need to halt blowing for a while because the paper has cut your skin and made it red

take a hot shower and blow your nose while in the hot shower but don’t use toilet paper or rags (just blow) then rinse

for a while you’ll need to cease blowing

you’ll have to roll up and gently place toilet paper in your nostril so it does not run down your face

and breathe through your mouth

Last week I went through the same problem. The ideal solution you can use is the Neti pot. It works far better than blowing your nose, and doesn't make your nose sore, no matter how many times you use it. You can find it at most health food stores, but you can even find it at Walgreens now. Report Abuse

Answer:
I concur. You are over-blowing. Stop blowing and wiping your nose so much and that should alleviate the soreness.
About the runny nose part- you could try irrigating your nostrils with salt water, which feels completely weird at first but it dries your nose out.
It sounds silly but eating spicy foods clears your nose out well, also. You would be increasing nasal discharge which seems counter productive but with all the discharge coming out, it is bound to knock out the blockage making your nose run in the first place.
Or you could take a antihistamine like Benadryl if it's due to allergies.

Answer:
maybe hot chicken noodle soup and hot tea. hope u feel better :D
