Okay so I usually take 2 Excedrin PM and it knocks me out pretty fast (Cuz I cant sleep at night)
But I started taking 2 Advil PM and it doesnt make me that exhausted so is it safe to take 3??

Answer:
To the person who stated “There are 200mg of Ibuprofen in each caplet of Advil PM so any more than that would be considered an overdose.”:

ld50 400mg/kg means 400 mg PER KILOGRAM OF BODY WEIGHT. As in a person would have to take roughly several thousand pills to have a 50% chance of dying. He would not overdose.

To be honest, Unless you're taking more than five times the recommended dosage of any over the counter medicine, you're not going to get any unwanted side affects. I would know, I've taken most over the counter drugs in huge, recreational doses.

Point of the story: I'd rather take 3-4 Advil PMs and fall asleep.

You should actually look for something called Simply Sleep or Unisom. They're pills that contain only the chemical related to sleep aid, not the ibuprofen, aspirin, etc that comes with them in other pills.

Answer:
do whatever you can to get to the root of your problem-your lack of sleep isn’t from an advil or excedrin deficiency, Refine your diet, reduce your stress, if there are hidden emotional issues, get counseling. In the meantime, go to the health food store, ask the nice people where the valerian, skullcap, and passion flower extracts
are located ( not tea, but a standardized extract)
also take 1,000 mg calcium/ magnesium 45 minutes before bed. Don’t watch television-this counteracts relaxation. Read a book-preferably a peaceful book, get a massage, see a chiropractor, stretching, deep breathing are all good alternatives to alleopathic pharmaceuticals.

Answer:
It may be a sign that you’re building up a tolerance to medication. Read the label carefully. If you have been taking pills to sleep for an extended period of time, this could be cause for concern. It would most likely be superior to go to your own physician for a prescription which would work, be safe & be monitored by a professional.

Answer:
Yes you can take 3, its not an issue at all. You just need to make sure you’re paying attention to how much of the sleeping aid you’re ingesting. If you noticed the other stuff worked superior, then perhaps you should go back to taking the other!

Answer:
“Consequences of Ibuprofen overdose: According to research institutes, Ibuprofen overdose damages your internal organs like liver. While in some cases it has been reported that it has result in a permanent liver damage, in other cases where the victim was taking the dose for a long and continued period it has resulted in organ failure one by one.”

“Ibuprofen Overdose can cause stinking vomiting, profuse sweating, severe abdominal pain, and can land you straight in the mental hospital for attempted suicide, where you might be medicated with things like liquid carbon or charcoal. Charcoal has the capability to absorb the drug before it can enter the systemic circulation. Another form of treatment to fight Ibuprofen overdose is gastric lavage which isn’t very popular, but is considered if the intake is potentially life threatening. This treatment can be performed within 60 minutes of ingestion of Ibuprofen.”

“Any doses above 400 mg/kg are considered an overdose and can result into any of the above consequences.”

There are 200mg of Ibuprofen in each caplet of Advil PM so any more than that would be considered an overdose.

Answer:
i have cronic insomnia & have taken 6 in the past & im ok!
everones bodys are different, respond to the mediscon differently. i usually take byindryl which also helps with my allergies, the way i see it why not kill two birds with one stone? haha i usually take two pills before bedtime, wait about 30 minutes & take another two, bc in the past by taking four at the same time, it made me like passout bc it was too much at ONE time, so if you take an exstra on or two an hour or so later your good to go!

Answer:
Advil PM can be very addictive! Most people start by just taking one or two pills over the proper dosage, but then you can get addicted.
