Has anyone tried acupuncture for bipolar disorder?
Is there a national board for acupuncture specialist? If so, does anyone know the number?
What are good questions to ask before going for a session?
What's the best way to pick a physician?

Thanks!

Answer:
Here is an article on acupuncture for the treatment of depression http://www.tcmdirectory.com/wordpress/in…

You can search their directory for a licensed acupuncturist and ask them if they have experience treating bipolar.

An important question to ask your acupuncturist is if they are licensed and how many hours/years of study they’d. it should be over 3,000 hours and over 3 years of study. Say away from the 2-300 hour certificates that physicians have if you want real results.

Answer:
bi polar isn’t a physical disorder.
it does not involve blood flow, or muscle tension.
it is completely a mental health issue, acupuncture is absolutely irrelevant to the mind, being a physical relief for muscle tension and the increase of blood flow. I doubt it would do anything to help.
